For most people, swine flu is a very mild, self-limiting illness that may not even be noticed. It typically lasts a week and causes fever, tiredness, cough and sore throat and simple treatment is all that is required. The new swine flu vaccine is different from the ordinary flu jab and is being offered to people who are most likely to become seriously ill if the catch swine flu. These included adults and children over 6 months old who have a long-term health condition (as for flu immunisation advice), pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy and people living in the same house as someone whose immune system is affected by disease or treatment. EXTENSION UPDATE
We must say a big thank you to all our patients for their continued patience with regards to our building work. This is not the easiest times for patients or staff but the builders tell us that everything is on schedule and we will soon have the work completed. As you will have noticed we are also improving our reception area, which is why the reception desk is now in the waiting room.
This is just a temporary measure whilst the work is done so again please bear with us. By late January we should be back to normal with our new reception open and the lift installed which will be a boon to our less mobile patients.
